At Auto Repair Specialists, Inc. we specialize in today's high tech vehicles. Almost all parts on today's newer cars and trucks are controlled by a computer, including the engine, air conditioning, brakes and steering, just to name a few. Being able to diagnose and fix the electronic and computer parts precisely is a major part of the automotive repair industry today.
Owners
Dave Timm has 25 years experience in automotive and agricultural mechanics. He is a graduate of Forreston High School, Whiteside Area Vocational Center, and Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, WY. Dave has worked at various repair shops since high school, and spent seven years at the Freeport Park District overseeing the mechanical maintenance department. In 1997 a dream was fulfilled with the opening of Auto Repair Specialists. Many changes have come in the last years, but the emphasis has remained on customer service and getting your vehicle repaired quickly and properly.
Gina Timm has many years of experience working as an office manager, formerly for a local attorney and for the last 4 years exclusively at Auto Repair Specialists.
Technicians
Owner and Service Manager, Dave Timm and Technicians: Gary Lamm, Corey Ifert, Eric Dyreson and Chad Schubert have a combined 60+ years experience which enables them to repair all aspects of today's modern vehicles.
Gary Lamm
Gary has 20 years experience in automotive, truck and agricultural mechanics. He is a graduate of Freeport High School, Stephenson Area Career Center, and Highland Community College. He owned and operated his own repair facility for a length of time. Gary is excellent in troubleshooting and repairing engines, transmissions and differentials. He is ASE Certified and continues to train with classes and seminars.
Corey Ifert
Corey has 9 years experience in the automotive field. He is a graduate of Dakota High School, SAVETS Automotive Training, and Highland Community College. Corey is excellent in troubleshooting, brakes, suspension, and vehicle electrical systems. He is ASE Certified and also continues to train and update himself with classes.
Eric Dyreson
Eric joined us in September of 2008. Eric graduated from Rock Valley College with an associates degree in Automotive Technology. He previously worked as a technician in Rockford Illinois. He is ASE Certified and also continues to train and update himself with classes.
Chad Schubert
Chad Schubert joined us in January of 2011 and works part time for us and also is a full time Freeport firefighter. He is a graduate of Highland Community College’s Automotive Technology program. He has worked previously at area automotive shops, and has 11 years experience.
Office Staff
Gina and Joann both work part time in the office. Gina in the mornings and Joann in the afternoons. Gina has many years of experience working as an office manager, formerly for a local attorney and for the last 4 years exclusively at Auto Repair Specialists. Joann also has many years of office experience, previously working for a realtor in Florida till her husband and her moved back to Freeport a few years ago.
Jennifer Snell is our Service Writer/Customer Relations Manager and joined us in November, 2010. She is originally from Cedar Falls, IA, and moved here 2 years ago. Jennifer assists Dave in setting up appointments, preparing customer invoices, ordering parts, and calling customers about their vehicles.
